Un leptodactyle pentadactyle ectrodactyle (Amphibiens, Anoures)

An ectrodactylous Leptodactylus (Amphibia, Anura) A male and a female Leptodactylus pentadactylus labyrinthicus (Spix) from Brasil, held in captivity since 1967, paired and spawned three times between June and September 1973. Out of 121 young Leptodactylus from the first spawning, one specimen was found to exhibit a symetric bilateral ectrodactyly in the hind limbs (4 toes for each foot). After a brief review of the types of causes known to give rise to ectrodactyly in the Amphibia, a few hypotheses are put forward in order to try and understand this single case of ectrodactyly — to our knowledge the first anomaly ever notified in the Leptodactylidae.Un mâle et une femelle de Leptodactyles, Leptodactylus pentadactylus labyrinthicus (Spix), provenant du Brésil et captifs depuis 1967, se sont accouplés et ont pondu à trois reprises de juin à septembre 1973. Parmi 121 jeunes Leptodactyles provenant de la première ponte, se trouvait un exemplaire atteint d'ectrodactylie postérieure bilatérale symétrique (4 orteils par patte). Après une revue sommaire des types de causes pouvant provoquer l'ectrodactylie chez les Amphibiens, quelques hypothèses sont proposées pour tenter de rendre compte de ce cas unique d'ectrodactylie, première anomalie signalée, à notre connaissance, chez un Leptodactylidé.Dubois Alain, Fischer Jean-Louis.
