La construction d'un paysage viticole : le Haut-Douro, de Pombal à nos jours

The making of a vine-growing landscape : the Haut-Douro from pombal to the present day. The Haut-Douro vineyards, listed in 2001 on the Unesco World Heritage Site, as "an evolutional and lively cultural landscape" unite diverse forms of vineyard organization, corresponding to several techniques used in the course of time. Beginning with the study of the present vine-rowing landscape, this paper tries to understand the historic evolution of the Haut-Douro region,, in relation to the policies for regulating the system of the Porto wine produced in this area ; the permanent features and the technical novelties in wine-growing, the commercial dynamics, and the types of wines demanded by the markets.The making of a vine-growing landscape : the Haut-Douro from pombal to the present day. El viñedo del Alto Duero, clasificado como Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO en 2001, en tanto que "paisaje cultural evolutivo y vivo ", asocia formas diversificadas de organización de la viña, que corresponden a varias técnicas utilizadas en el transcurso de los años. Empezando por la observación del paisaje vitícola actual, este articulo trata de comprender la evolución histórica de la región del Alto Duero, en relación con las políticas de regulación del sistema del vino de Oporto producido en esta región, con las permanencias y las innovaciones técnicas del cultivo de la viña, con las dinámicas comerciales y los tipos de vinos requeridos por el mercado.Martins Pereira Gaspar.
