Immanence et intentionnalité

The A. tries to reveal the singularity of Michel Henry's proposed interpretation of Maine de Biran's writings. More specifically, he follows up the way in which material phenomenology has taken up and reactivated Maine de Biran's concept of continu résistant (the body's continual effort of resistance). According to the A., the textual phases in Michel Henry's work that bring this concept into play are so many strategic places from which it is possible to indicate both the steps in material phenomenology' s development and the tensions with which the approach is fraught. Maine de Biran and his concept of continu résistant thus become an exemplary pretext for questioning and assessing the philosophical stakes involved, as well as the aporias with which a phenomenology of immanence that would like to do without the concept of intentionality is confronted.Dans ce travail, l'A. tente de mettre en évidence la singularité de l'interprétation de Maine de Biran proposée par Michel Henry. Plus spécifiquement, il s'agit de suivre la façon dont la phénoménologie matérielle reprend et réactive le concept biranien de continu résistant. Selon l'A., les phases textuelles de l'œuvre de Michel Henry qui mettent en scène ce concept constituent autant d'endroits stratégiques à partir desquels il est possible d'indiquer tout à la fois les évolutions qu'a connues la phénoménologie matérielle, mais également les tensions qui l'habitent pour une part. Maine de Biran et son concept de continu résistant deviennent ainsi un prétexte exemplaire pour interroger et évaluer les enjeux philosophiques ainsi que les apories face auxquelles une phénoménologie de l'immanence qui entend se passer du concept d' intentionnalité, se trouve confrontée.Laoureux Sébastien.
