The writing of an adventure story seems difficult on entering secondary school : the character is very little characterized and the story sketchy (M.E.N., 2001) This observation questions the didactics of narration. If the character is an object to produce (Tauveron 1995) and the description an essential element of the story (Reuter 2000), one must nevertheless work on the plot that organizes the narrative form (Adam 1996). How can one articulate these different components to help the pupil to write and rewrite ? The didactical processes proposed here relies on the construction of the world of fiction to think the story. It interweaves the three dimensions of the character, the plot and the world in a project organised around three units taking each one dimension as object. The elaboration of a hypermedia gathering texts and images on the world of story constitutes help prior to writing and following a resource to rewrite. To make the procedure operational, we cross the didactical models with the three defined dimensions in order to describe the problems aroused by the story in the management of discourse and of putting it into text. The analysis of expérimentation in cycle III (8 to 11 years old) reveals signi-ficant differences in the management of didactical objects. Three variables interact : the culture of story, the culture of didactics and the culture of the world. The qualitative analysis of a case shows that a pupil integrates some signified from the database in his description while keeping up his initial idea, operating as such a singular rewriting. Each teacher appropriates as well the didactical processes in a singular way. The spotted variables lead to different instrumentations of the didactic tool. A reflection on the transformation of pragmatic knowledge conceived in action into declarative knowledge may help to think the didactics of writing.L'écriture d'un récit d'aventure apparaît problématique à l'entrée en sixième : le personnage est peu caractérisé et le récit squelettique (M.E.N., 2001). Ce constat interroge la didactique du récit. Si le personnage est un objet à produire (Tauveron, 1995) et la description une composante essentielle du récit (Reuter, 2000), il faut néanmoins travailler l'intrigue qui organise la mise en forme narrative (Adam, 1996). Comment peut-on alors articuler ces différentes composantes pour aider l'élève à écrire et à réécrire ? La démarche didactique proposée ici s'appuie sur la construction du monde de fiction pour penser le récit. Elle entrelace les trois dimensions du personnage, de l'intrigue et du monde dans un projet organisé autour de trois modules prenant chacun une dimension pour objet. L'élaboration d'un hypermédia regroupant des textes et des images sur le monde du récit constitue en amont une aide à l'écriture et en aval une ressource pour réécrire. Pour opérationnaliser la démarche, nous croisons des modèles didactiques avec les trois dimensions définies afin de décrire les problèmes posés par le récit dans la gestion du discours et la mise en texte. L'analyse d'une expérimentation en cycle III révèle des différences significatives dans la gestion des objets didactiques. Trois variables interagissent : la culture du récit, la culture didactique et la culture du monde. L'analyse qualitative d'un cas montre que l'élève intègre des signifiés de la base dans sa description tout en conservant son idée initiale, opérant ainsi une réécriture singulière. Chaque enseignant s'approprie la démarche didactique également de manière singulière. Les variables repérées conduisent à des instrumentations différentes de l'outil didactique. Une réflexion sur la transformation de savoirs pragmatiques conçus dans l'action en des savoirs déclaratifs peut aider à penser la didactique de l'écriture.Froger Norbert.
