Normative postures acquisition in connection with spelling : speech and attitude of the teacher in his classroom. The most competent manage the norm as much as the spelling system. The less competent are affected by the norm and infer from that pseudo-rational explanations concerning the spelling system. Facing spelling variation, these learners adopt numerous normative postures, which put them in situations of linguistic security or insecurity.
