Reference points of grammatical knowledge : university grammar textbooks over the last ten years. Christian Touratier, Université de Provence. We present and evaluate textbooks on French grammar and on grammatical analysis focusing essentially on the French language which, from 1985 to 1995, were used with first and second cycle (1st and 2nd years / 3rd year and Masters) French university students. From this study, we seek to bring out the main points in common which could be fitted into a general and coherent theory of grammar as well as the new orientations which research in linguistics has been able to bring about in these grammar textbooks in relation to their predecessors.
