Les extraits de lecture de Montesquieu

Louis Desgraves : Montesquieu's reading. Montesquieu's reading notes are of two types : firstly there are notes devoted to a particular subject grouped in notebooks — Anatomica, Juridica, Politica etc. (which are today lost), Collectio Juris and Geographica 2, which are extant ; and secondly there are notes concerning an author or a particular work. Most of this second category is unpublished. This article draws up the list of seventy-two of these notes together with : 1. the author and title of the work with a reference to the Catalogue of Montesquieu's library ; 2. the text of Montesquieu's quotation ; 3. the localisation of the manuscript ; 4. any publication.
