Between practices and representations of the places, what territorially of inhabitants of the Pays de Serres ? The name « Pays de Serres » comes from the strips of plateau cut by the affluents of the Lot and of the Garonne in the peninsula isolated by those two rivers. This agricultural land belongs to the « peri-urban » zones of Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Agen. Its renewed population is adopting urban ways of life. The « pays » is promoted by an association of farmers and new inhabitants, but has no political consistency. Though many social representations exploit the symbols of its landscapes and of its patrimonial resources and though it covers the practice space of an entire population, it doesn't constitute a lived territory.
