This paper presents the institutions structuring the world of Ethiopian athletics. First of all, the governmental Sport Commission (former NESCO), the Ethiopian National Olympic Committee (ETH-NOC) and the Federal Supreme Council of Sport (FSCS) are briefly described before introducing the Ethiopian Athletics Federation (EAF) itself with its specificities and the history of its coaching. Other prominent actors of the world of athletics are the clubs, either military, company-owned or regional, and their hierarchy into first and second divisions. The training facilities for athletes are then described, as well as both the EAF and non-EAF competitions. Finally, some key issues concerning the world of international elite are approached.Cet art...
