This article presents the main results of research on the demographic behaviour of the King's Girls, i.e., some 770 immigrants sent by King Louis XIV from 1663 to 1673 to populate his Canadian colony. Since most of these women were mainly from the poorest sectors of society, the analysis attempts to discover to what degree the change in milieu made the sequels of their French past disappear.
