Tertiary employment in medium sized towns of Midi-Pyrénées. The increase of tertiary employment goes with and influences at the same time the demographic growth of the middlesized towns of Midi-Pyrénées. From 1960 onwards, these towns have benefited by the multiplying effects of their infrastructure in public services. The strong progression of the number of civil servants allowed a concentration of private services and the increase of urban consumption which ensures the continuity of the growth.
