This article treats two questions raised by the publication of the volume of the Corpus dos mosaicos romanos de Portugal, devoted to the House of the Fountains at Conimbriga. The first concerns the structure of the floor mosaics and its relation to the iconography for which it forms the setting, as well as the function of the rooms and the overall plan of the house. The second question concerns the dating of both the house and the floor, the two requiring separate treatment.
