Inscriptions antiques du Maroc, 2. Inscriptions latines - Supplément

In 1982, MM. M. Euzennat, J. Marion, J. Gascou and Y. de Kisch edited, in the collection Etudes d'Antiquites africaines, the first volume of Inscriptions antiques du Maroc, 2. Inscriptions latines which compiled for the first time numerous latine inscriptions from Morocco, known from different sources. Since then, many articles gave a new light on Roman epigraphy in Morocco. So it was made necessary to put together all these complementary informations in a new volume : this work was asked to Mrs N. Labory. The recent publications have given informations of three types. They allowed to correct some reading mistakes ; they gave new interpretations ; and, 75 inscriptions were discovered or edited since 1982. The present volume offer a new synthesis on those readings and different interpretation ; it collects as well the new inscriptions following the rules adopted by the authors of volume 2. «Agregee» of Classical Studies and associated searcher to the Centre Camille Jullian (Aix-en-Provence), Nadine Labory is an eminent epigraphist, specialized in the study of military texts from Roman North Africa.En 1982, MM. M. Euzennat, J. Marion, J. Gascou et Y. de Kisch publiaient, dans la collection Études d'Antiquités africaines, le volume des Inscriptions antiques du Maroc, 2. Inscriptions latines qui permit de réunir pour la première fois les très nombreuses inscriptions latines du Maroc éditées dans diverses publications. Depuis lors, un grand nombre d'articles ont jeté une lumière nouvelle sur l'épigraphie marocaine. Il était donc nécessaire de rassembler ces informations complémentaires dans un troisième recueil : cette tâche a été confiée à Mme N. Labory. Les publications récentes ont apporté des informations de trois types. Elles ont permis de corriger les erreurs de lecture ; elles ont apporté de nouvelles interprétations ; enfin, soixante-quinze inscriptions ont été découvertes ou publiées depuis 1982. Le présent volume fait la synthèse de ces lectures et de ces interprétations différentes ; il regroupe également les inscriptions nouvelles en suivant les règles adoptées par les auteurs du volume 2. Agrégée de Lettres classiques et chercheur associé au Centre Camille Jullian (Aix-en-Provence), Nadine Labory est épigraphiste, spécialisée dans l'étude des textes militaires africains.Labory Nadine.
