In 1993, following the accidental discovery of the floors of Iron Age huts when a track was opened on the north slopes of the Mont-Aurélien near Pourrières in the Var, a preventive excavation was carried out. Analysis of this type of unfortified habitat, unknown in the Var up till now, showed huts dug into the palaeosol and consisting of perishable matter. It provides a new contribution to the knowledge of this type of occupation of the soil.
