In his Dialogue with Trypho, Justin remains marked by his initial philosophical education even when he tries to adapt himself to his Jewish interlocutor. The Christian apologist conceives of Christ as the eternal Law of which the Mosaic regulations are simply a limited expression in time and space. The Jewish Law is good in so far as it reflects the eternal Law, but bad in its specific enactments. Circumcision, like the Temple sacrifices become a matter of condemnation and were only instituted by God in order to break the hard-heartedness of the Jews.Henné Philippe.
