La connaissance de l'hébreu dans les correctoires de la Bible du XIIIe siècle. Notes préliminaires

Among the revisions of St. Jérôme' s Latin translation of the Bible, the correctoria written in the XlIIth and XlVth centuries are very important. These lists of critical notes on the "Parisian" text of the Vulgate by dominican and franciscan scholars constantly refer to the Hebrew and Greek original text of the Bible, and to the old translations (Septuaginta, targum, Vêtus Latina) as well as to different classes of Latin manuscripts, going back to previous recensions. The present study tries to determine to what extent the Hebrew text is used and to evaluate the knowledge that the authors of the correctoria had of this language.Dahan Gilbert.
