Abstract. - Commercial changes have been moved by a very strong dynamics of centre-periphery connections over the last twenty years, but the hardening of the competition leads now to a displacement of the battle both in the centre and in the periphery. It follows that the retailing framework is getting more contracted in the urban areas to advantage of development of very varied commercial poles.Résumé. - Les bouleversements commerciaux de ces vingt dernières années s'appuient sur une dynamique très forte des rapports centre-périphérie, mais le durcissement de la concurrence entraîne un déplacement de la compétition à la fois dans le centre et en périphérie. Il s'ensuit une contraction de l'armature commerciale dans l'espace urbain au profit du développement d'une grande variété de pôles commerciaux.Bondue Jean-Pierre.
