Spécialisation géographique du système agricole français. Une méthode d'évaluation (Geographical specialization in the french agriculture)

Abstract. - This paper deals with the current process of specialization- intensification which obviously defines the french agriculture. This strong process improves the agricultural level at one, and the same time it may give it more instability. With new datas about farmholdings, according to Common Market statistics (OTEX classification, i.e. Technico-Economic Orientation of the Exploitations), the trend of specialization between 1970 and 1980 is measured in two directions : as a specialization observed in the farmholding-organisation and as a specialization observed in rural areas. The question is : does the specialization simplify the agricultural pattern as it would seem on a shallow view ?Résumé. - L'article, grâce à de nouvelles sources (OTEX), qui permettent l'approche exhaustive du comportement des agents agriculteurs, et à l'aide de traitements statistiques appropriés, dissocie systématiquement la tendance commune des variations spécifiques au cours de la décennie 1970-1980. Il fournit une définition expérimentale de ce qu'est la spécialisation et la diversification agricole à un niveau d'observation donné.Rey Violette.
