Bilan et perspectives d'une opération d'encadrement paysan dans la région de la Kara (Togo) (A study of peasant support in the Kara valley, Togo)

Abstract. - This paper presents a case study of a planified intervention in a rural area in the region of Kara (Togo). It studies firstly its demographic reasons, the settlement of the migrants (from the Kabyè mountain) and the results : increase in yields and production, self-sufficiency in agricultural products. However accurate problems are now posed by the end of the technical and financial support of the F.E.D., and the question of land ownership between the natives and the migrants.Résumé. - Cet article traite d'un cas d'intervention rurale planifiée dans la région de Kara (Togo). Il étudie d'abord les causes démographiques de l'opération, les conditions d'installation des migrants et les résultats (accroissement des rendements et de la production, accès à l'autosuffisance alimentaire). Il étudie ensuite les problèmes que pose cette implantation, qui sont notamment liés à l'arrêt de l'aide financière et technique initiale, et au statut foncier qui reste imprécis.Akibodé A.K.
