Vaticanus Graecus 2203 is a 14th century manuscript of Thucydides' Histories which has not been examined in its entirety. Iohannes Battista Alberti examined books II and VII on microfilm and concluded that Vat. Gr. 2203 is a copy of the manuscript C of the 10th century but also consulted a source close to G. He maintains that the copyist of Vi (Vat. Gr. 2203) copied C after it had been corrected by c3 and c4 in the 13th century. This position is refuted in this article by demonstrating that although Vi agrees with C exclusively in error, it also agrees with G exclusively in error a significant number of times.
