La restructuration foncière en Aquitaine du Nord (Consolidation of farmland in the north of french Aquitaine)

Abstract. - The regrouping of farmlands in the North of the province of Aquitaine began only around 1960 and has affected 16% of the productive land. Even though the farmers concerned recognize the benefits of this practice, it has been almost totally abandoned. Discouraged financially, technically and psychologically they now prefer taking advantage of the numerous opportunities and new legal means available to them to get access to land. The reshaping of farming concerns has been more efficiently completed by lands left vacant by the I. V.D. (Indemnité Viagère de Départ), or bought up by the SA.F.E.R. (Société d'Aménagement Fonder et d'Etablissement Rural), the sale of parcels of land by private agreement or tenant farming.Résumé. - En Aquitaine du Nord le remembrement agricole qui n'a débuté que vers 1960 et a touché 16% de la S.A.U. est aujourd'hui délaissé par les agriculteurs qui en reconnaissent pourtant les bienfaits. C'est qu'au-delà des freins financiers, techniques ou psychologiques, les exploitants préfèrent maintenant utiliser les nombreuses possibilités ou procédures d'accès au foncier : les terres libérées par l'I.V.D., ou procurées par les SA.F.E.R., les superficies échangées à l'amiable ou louées en fermage, permettent d'éviter un remembrement long, délicat et coûteux...Roudié Philippe.
