Small valley bottoms in eastern Picardy contain varied organo-mineral detritic formations often deposed in séquences. Deposition processes and the local development of peat are closely to spécifie lithostratigraphic conditions. In order to complete the currently inadequate regional coverage, and in connection with renewed interest in environmental studies stimulated by an increase in archeological fieldwork, a geomorphological study of secondary valley of the river Vesle is proposed prior to a forcoming pollen study.
