About the death of Romulus (Livy 1.15.6 -16). We find in ancient writers two opposite traditions for Romulus’ death: his murder by Romans themselves or his apotheosis with the name of Quirinus. Livius seems to give greater importance to more poetic than historical tradition of Romulus’ apotheosis.
