Pharmaceutical patents and access to drugs in developing countries : a case study of Djibouti and the international intellectual property system This article analyses the paradoxes generated by the Trade Related Intellectual Property Agreement (TRIPS) and pharmaceutical patents in the Republic of Djibouti. By looking at a type of country that the current studies generally do not take into account — that is, a small and one of the world’s poorest countries — the article brings to the fore new issues and contributes to a growing academic debate.
