Abstract. - In the Canadian North, the present map of recreo-tourist regions is a «= mental map ». Southern limits of Northern Canada located around Parallel 50 in the East and Parallel 56 in the West put in the North 75 % of the national territory. Northern ecumene with its 300 000 scattered residents has a very low value of centrality. A tourist region is a large area of great interest with some access facilities. West Yukon and East Baffin are the most attractive units. The Nelson-Keewatin Area and the Great Slave Lake Area are in process of some developments.
