The mint of Trier has produced in 298 A. D. a series of nummi showing the jugate busts of several tetrarchs and also the bust of one of them associated to the bust of Hercules. This represents undoubtedly an attempt to improve further the image of the tetrarchy established five years earlier. This occured at a moment when many important military victories had taken place between 296 and 298 A. D. The fact that such a propagandistic operation was achieved through a series of silvered bronze nummi which were normally part of a large circulation could constitute an incentive to initiate in the future a more global and in-depth study of the coinage to which this particular series of coins belongs.L’atelier de Trèves a produit en 298 ap.
