Europe and the New United States Policy towards China. The objective geopolitical linkage between China and Europe is based on the fact that both are neighbours of an expanding Soviet Union. This linkage became relevant when China became a nuclear power and when the United States' diplomacy catapulted China into the international system. The United States' new China policy implies a more modest role for the two superpowers and from this Europe can only benefit.
