The European cooperative banks : achievements and challenges In Europe, the cooperative networks constitute major actors of the banking sector. One of the major challenges of these networks consist of the search of an optimisation of their functioning. This search lays in the centralisation of the back-office functions, in the harmonisation of the processing of information and the tools of the risk assessment, in the definition of a common commercial policy and the standardisation of the distributed products.
