In this paper, the question of freight transport is seen as a possible interpretation of the relationship between territory and industry. The increase of spatial and organizational scattering of production (inside the firm and with its clients) has only been possible thanks to the continuous improvement of logistic ties between the various economic actors. As the organization non-sens of goods circulation became the main concern of manufacturers, the network appears as a central element in structuring the new industrial development. In the present paper, the express and parcel delivery services are taken as an example of the continuous adjustment of territorial networks. The increase in demand for industrial shippers led to a more centralized pattern and at the same time to an increasing integration of interfirms relationships. Both of these evolutions are here described and explained as territorial processes. The theoretical aim of the paper is to show how networks can be considered differently in geography, not only as infrastructures but as routing systems dealing with service. With such networks, we no longer approach areas on the basis of regional proximity but upon one of accessibility (costs, time transportation and restocking cut within the time limit). The greater time constraints fuel the change from a « regionalized territory to a temporalized territory » according to C. Raf festin' s terms.Dans le secteur du transport de fret, la messagerie a en charge l'acheminement des envois légers (paquets, colis). Son organisation réticulaire offre un intéressant cas d'étude de territoires réticulaires. L'article montre en effet que l'on peut envisager une étude géographique des réseaux sous l'angle de la prestation de service, là où longtemps prédominait la seule approche infrastructurelle. On rappellera d'abord les modalités d'organisation des entreprises de messagerie selon des configurations spatiales spécifiques, aussi bien dans leurs composantes techniques de gestion des flux que leurs composantes organisationnelles de relations entre entreprises. Ces configurations pourtant ne cessent d'évoluer pour répondre aux attentes des chargeurs industriels. L'ajustement des prestations conduit ainsi les opérateurs à transformer la configuration territoriale de leurs réseaux d'acheminement. On peut dès lors caractériser les adaptations successives selon une polarisation croissante quant à leurs morphologies et par une intégration grandissante quant aux formes d'organisation interentreprises. Au-delà d'une simple évolution interne à la messagerie, on peut voir dans cette logique l'affirmation d'un système productif de plus en plus réticulaire, où la notion d'accessibilité en termes de coût et de délai se substitue à la notion de distance.Beyer Antoine.
