L'émigration turque : circulation migratoire et diasporas

Turkish emigrants : migration flows and diaspora. — Whether it is a passing fashion or the reflection of an evolution in international migration, the discourse on 'diaspora' is now expanding to include new communities, even though it is based on nothing more clearly defined than the myth of a return to origins, which in fact covers an aggregate of seemingly contradictory elements such as integration or 'migration flows'. This paper first discusses the literature on relationships between transport and immigration and, starting from the case of the Turks, then addresses the issue of the articulation between transport and communication in terms of the evolution of migration within an extensive and comparatively well structured area. Although the Turkish diaspora seems to be building up before our eyes, the terms of this evolution are not at all well known.Effet de mode ou reflet d'une évolution nouvelle des migrations internationales, le discours sur la « diaspora » s'étend à des populations nouvelles, sans être mieux défini que le « mythe du retour », mêlant ainsi une multitude de faits apparemment contradictoires comme l'intégration ou la « circulation migratoire ». Après un bilan de la littérature consacrée aux relations entre transports et immigrations, on pose à partir du cas des Turcs la question de l'articulation entre transports et communications face à l'évolution de la migration dans un champ étendu et relativement structuré.
