Les réseaux techniques sont-ils des réseaux ?

Are infrastructure networks territorial networks ?— Can infrastructure networks (transportation, water supply, energy, information...) be considered as territorial ? It is clearly possible to give an axiomatic definition of a territorial network, potentially connecting nodes by links, following the projects of located actors. But, due to various constraints (economic, political, technical...), technology alters this ideal figure. There is thus a gap (and even a conflict) between the actual infrastructure and the territorial network. This gap can be measured by using indicators like : connexity, connectivity, homogeneity, isotropy, nodality, complexity... Nowadays, the so-called information revolution could reduce the gap and reconcile infrastructure networks with territory as modern society seems to understand it.Les réseaux techniques d'infrastructure (transport de personnes, de matière, d'eau, d'énergie, d'information...) sont-ils des réseaux territoriaux ? L'on peut établir une axiomatique du réseau territorial, reliant potentiellement entre eux des « points » par des « lignes » selon les projets des acteurs localisés. Mais la technique vient modifier le réseau idéal en lui imposant différentes contraintes technologiques, économiques, politiques : d'où un écart, voire une opposition entre réseau technique et réseau territorial. Cet écart peut être repéré grâce à plusieurs indicateurs : connexité, connectivité, homogénéité, isotropie, nodalité, complexité... Aujourd'hui, la révolution informationnelle pourrait réduire cet écart et rapprocher les réseaux techniques des territoires, tels que paraît les concevoir la société moderne.Dupuy Gabriel.
