Foreigners in French urban agglomerations. 1962-1982. The increasing percentages of foreigners among the French population (foreigners' rates) is due to a faster increase of the foreign population than that of the French population, as analysed from census to census for the last twenty years. These facts do not account for local differences: the paper examines, for each of the 57 agglomerations of more than 100000 inhabitants in 1982, the evolutions not only of foreigners rates but also of the variations of French and foreign populations.
