A la recherche de modèles culturels à travers l'analyse du discours spontané

Lindenfeld, Jacqueline - « Seeking fo cultural models through the analysis of spontaneous discourse ». American cognitive anthropologists have in the last few years opened new avenues of research which are bringing them closer to sociolinguists. Discourse analysis, and especially the notions of script and of schematic structures plays a central role in the attempt to uncover the shared cultural assuptions and implicit social rules which are part of the knowledge system of a society. The examination of a set of California markets interactions leads us to the outlining of the cultural model which is grounded in the reality of social interaction. The discussion will focus on the methodological approach which takes American cognitive anthropology away from the somewhat rigid framework of ethnoscience and brings them closer to sociolinguistics as well as the newly emerging field of "cognitive linguistics".Les travaux américains en anthropologie cognitive ont pris ces dernières années une direction qui les rapproche de la sociolinguistique. L'analyse du discours, et en particulier les notions de script et de structures schématiques, nous permet de mettre en évidence les préssuposés culturels et les règles sociales implicites qui font partie du système de connaissances d'une société. L'examen d'une série d'interactions recueillies sur une place marchande de Californie sera l'occasion d'esquisser un modèle culturel ancré dans le vécu de l'interaction sociale. La discussion sera centrée sur l'examen de ce qui éloigne l'anthropologie cognitive américaine d'une ethnoscience parfois trop rigide, pour la rapprocher tant de la sociolinguistique que de la "linguistique cognitive" qui émerge actuellement.Lindenfeld Jacqueline.
