The initiative of Albert Camus and René Char in 1949 in creating a revue concentrating on the defence of Mediterranean values may not have given the expected results, but certainly it opened the way towards a deeper reflection on and around this subject. Many working hypotheses may still be formulated without exhausting the subject. In the present paper, an analysis of the Mediterranean elements is attempted with the objective of identifying eventually a unitary cultural system from which may result not only common thematic axes but maybe also a specific aesthetic system. The work of well known authors like Camus, Char, Lorca, Elytis will provide useful and interesting examples in the process of this endeavour.Ioannou Yannis E. Vers une est...
