These twenty imperial dedicaces which are consecrated to fifteen members of the Julio-Claudian family at least, may be attributed to three periods: Augustean, Tiberian, perhaps Caligula's reign, according to the remains of inscriptions and colours of marbles used. These groups reflect the evolution of the dynastic propaganda: when Tiberius is reigning, aparticuliar tribute is given to Germanicus' family. The dedicaces went together with portraits-statues of the honoured personnages placed on tall pedestals in the forum of the town. The opistographic inscriptions might show traces of modifications made by the adjunction of new dedicaces. Senator P.
