This study focuses on the effects of magnesium chloride (MgCl2) concentration in aqueous solution on drop size and stability of nano-emulsions prepared using phase inversion temperature (PIT) method. The nano-emulsion system contained 76.8 wt% aqueous salt solution, 4 wt% surfactant and 19.2 wt% oil. n-Dodecane and n-Decane were used as the disperse phase and Brij 30 was used as the surfactant. MgCl2 salt concentration in the aqueous solution was varied from 0 to 1.0 M. PIT points were determined by measuring the conductivity of the mixture as a function of temperature. The stability of nano-emulsions was determined by measuring the mean size, polydispersity index (PDI) and size distribution of droplets using dynamic light scattering (DLS) ...
