This paper is based on the sedimentological and geochemical study of ten sections or drillings made in the Sainte-Victoire mountain piedmonts. It confirms the existence of a prehistoric holocene low terrace that as been probably cut down from Subboreal. After the relatively stable Roman period phase, the medieval very low terrace built up; the following cutting down phase is badly dated.
