This article retraces the course of analyses which attempt to bring to light the primordial character of the notion of "freedom" in the Critique of the Faculty of Judging Aesthetically. The analyses aiming to illuminate the content of this notion are here grouped around four fundamental themes : the favour, the play of the faculties, finality without end, the genius. Insisting thus on the place reserved for "freedom" by a text which always nourishes the thought of the Beautiful and of art, this article also seeks to emphasise that around the Kantian concept the possibility is established of a phenomenological reflection on the Beautiful and on art.
