L'archimandrite Naum et les « naumovcy » comme quintessence du phénomène contemporain du starčestvo

The Naum archimandrite and "naumovtsy" as the quintessence of the contemporary starchestvo phenomenon The starchestvo, an informal religious practice in the Russian Orthodox Church, is a phenomenon that, parallel to official theological doctrines, fits into a system of practices and beliefs called "popular Orthodoxy". This practice is far from homogeneous. The influence of spiritual fathers is of overriding importance. Officially belonging to the Russian Orthodox Church, these priests exercise an influence (recognized by the episcopate itself) over the faithful and the clergy. They have set up their own system of Church administration. By concentrating on one example, the Naum archimandrite (Bajborodin), the relations between the starets and his disciples are studied so as to analyze both his influence on Church activities, even in the political and social fields, and the psychological mechanisms used to rule over followers.Le starcestvo est une pratique religieuse informelle au sein de l'Église orthodoxe russe. Il est analysé ici comme un phénomène parallèle à la doctrine théologique officielle participant du système de pratiques et de croyances qualifié d'« orthodoxie populaire ». Notons qu'il est loin d'être homogène. L'influence des starq/ (pères spirituels) est primordiale ; ces prêtres officiellement rattachés à l'Église orthodoxe russe jouissent d'un ascendant sur les croyants et le clergé qui est reconnu par l'épiscopat. De fait, ils ont instauré leur propre système d'administration de l'Église. Prenant à titre d'exemple l'un d'entre eux, l'archimandrite Naum (Bajborodin), nous étudions les rapports entre le starec et ses disciples. Ce faisant, nous analysons autant l'influence du starec sur la vie de l'Église, y compris dans les domaines politique et social, que les mécanismes psychologiques mis en œuvre pour régenter les adeptes.Mitrokhin Nikolaj, Lambert Yvette.
