L'insistance du langage dans la phénoménologie post-husserlienne

The care to understand the forms and the causes of the universal obsession with language in contemporary philosophical thought dominates this study in which the A. attempts to catch by surprise this obsession in one of its most discreet sources, Heidegger's Sein und Zeit. He observes that (1) Heidegger, and with him all of the phenomenological-dialectical-hermeneutical current, has sought to avoid the philosophy of language in the Anglo-Saxon sense, that is to say, a metalinguistic philosophy which would only be of language, for the sake of a philosophical thought which would continue to be about that which is and the being of that which is; (2) the way in which the question is treated in Sein und Zeit is unsatisfactory because it is fundamentally ambiguous. On the one hand the language is localised in a very secondary and apparently unproblematic place, in the framework of a philosophy which seeks to be about the being-thereness and being itself. On the other hand the question of the language springs up insistently in numerous forms at the very heart of the problematic of the treatise which finally reveals itself to be almost as obsessed by questions of language as Unterwegs zur Sprache or as is Anglo-Saxon philosophy, though in a very different form. To illustrate this ambiguity the A. examines especially the way in which Heidegger treats the questions of the statement, of the «inasmuch-as», of the nature of the phenomenological (-hermeneutical) discourse. Finally the A. briefly verifies certain results of this analysis of Sein und Zeit by examining one of the latest of Heidegger's writings embodied in Phänomenologie und Theologie. The general conclusion tends to discern in contemporary philosophy a twofold obsession with language : the one metalinguistic and specifically Anglo-Saxon, the other adlinguistic and more specifically continental.Le souci de comprendre les formes et les causes de la hantise universelle du langage dans la pensée philosophique contemporaine commande cette étude où l'auteur tente de surprendre cette obsession à l'une de ses sources les plus discrètes, dans Sein und Zeit de Heidegger. Or il constate que 1) Heidegger, et avec lui tout le courant phénoménologique-dialectique-herméneutique, a cherché à esquiver la philosophie du langage au sens anglo-saxon, c'est-à-dire une philosophie métalinguistique qui ne serait que du langage, au profit d'une pensée philosophique qui continuerait d'être à propos de ce qui est et de l'être de ce qui est; 2) la façon dont la question du langage est traitée dans Sein und Zeit est insatisfaisante car fondamentalement ambiguë. D'une part, le langage est localisé en un lieu très dérivé et apparemment non problématique, dans le cadre d'une philosophie qui se veut de l'être-là et de l'être même. D'autre part, la question du langage rejaillit de façon insistante sous des formes multiples au cœur même de la problématique du traité qui se révèle, en définitive, presque aussi obsédé par les questions de langage que le sera Unterwegs zur Sprache ou que l'est, quoique sous une forme fort différente, la philosophie anglo-saxonne. Pour illustrer cette ambiguïté, l'auteur examine spécialement la façon dont Heidegger traite les questions de l'énoncé, de l'en-tant-que, de la nature du discours phénoménologique (-herméneutique). Enfin, l'auteur vérifie brièvement certains résultats de cette analyse de Sein und Zeit en examinant un des textes les plus tardifs de Heidegger repris dans Phänomenologie und Theologie. La conclusion générale tend à discerner dans la philosophie contemporaine une hantise langagière à deux faces : l'une métalinguistique et spécifiquement anglo-saxonne, l'autre adlinguistique et plus spécifiquement continentale.Hottois Gilbert.
