Reflection photopaintings

 "This exhibition, focusing on the contemporary concrete art and photography of 9 international artists, including Alan Uglow (UK), Tilman (Germany), John Beech (USA), Else Marie Hagen (Norway) and Emmanuelle Villard (France) was curated by Executive Director, CCNOA, Petra Bungert and confirms Thomas' place in the field as an exemplar of best practice in the field.<br /><br />Reflection, two composite photo paintings, continued Thomas' research investigates how time and space are a phenomenology of the relationship between how time and space are manifested. In combining time space with issues of non-objective painting (concrete reality in the present) with photographic time. The juxtapositional relationship which takes these works into an extended time space relationship is achieved by reflecting the viewers' own images, by which the viewer becomes an element amid the history of the work.<br /><br />Thomas refer to his works as composites - a term derived from Henri Bergson's thinking - enabling things which are different in kind to be reconciled over the time of viewing.""
