RESEARCH BACKGROUND<br />Eureka is unique for its development of a spatial metaphor for image collections and explorations between digital space and spatial sound. <br /><br />RESEARCH CONTRIBUTION<br />The initial Eureka prototypes of 2002-03 were a pioneering example of the meaningful use of digital space as an interface for image content. This paradigm is now gaining momentum in contemporary web and interface design. The key insights of Eureka were that three-dimensional interfaces allow users a sense of perspective in their information collection and that spatial sound is a good means for aiding the experiential qualities of space.
