This article presents a study of how the field of space is structured by intellectually gifted children, characterized by the rapidity of the general rhythm with which they build up knowledge, which may, however, at critical moments of the genesis, present a certain discord within the organization of their potentialities. This study comes within the theo- rical framework of the development of intelligence according to Piaget. Firstly, «Gifted » children, aged 6, and « average » children of the same mental age (aged 8) were compared.
