Children rejected by their peers Children rejected by their peers do not all display negative perceptions of their social acceptance. In this study, rejected children with positive perceptions of their social acceptance are compared to those with negative perceptions, in order to ascertain the behavioral or sociometric dimensions on which they differ. Two groups of children of average status were included in the comparison. A total of 102 children from 3rd and 4th grades participated in the present study.
