Blissymbolics is a pictographic and ideographic writing used in functional reeducation centers in order to allow the children with cerebral palsy to communicate with surroundings. This paper questions (1) the linguistic status of such a system (2), the theoretical reasons of its use instead of alphabetic writing and (3) the conditions of its acquisition.
