L’autonymie dans la tradition linguistique arabe

ABSTRACT: In our tradition, metalanguage and autonymy find their roots in Greek thought (Porphyrus, III-IV cent. A. D.). Nevertheless, we encounter them also in the falsafa (e. g. F r b, IV/ X cent.) and, from then onwards, in the Arabic linguistic tradition. The second part of the article will be devoted to this logical-philosophical tradition in the ar al-K fiya by the grammarian Ra al-d n al-Astar b d (VII/ XIII cent.). In the first part of the article, however, starting from the study of •delocutive verbs’, we will deal with the grammatical category of ik ya (‘ citation’), as depicted throughout the chapter that Za (IV/ X cent.) dedicated to this subject in his Kit b al-umal. Finally, we will examine the extent to which these two traditions eventually joined.RÉSUMÉ: Dans notre tradition, métalangage et autonymie s’originent dans la pensée grecque (Porphyre, IIIe-IVe siècles ap. J.-C.). Mais on les retrouve aussi dans la falsafa (e. g. F r b, IVe/ Xe siècles) et, de là, dans la tradition linguistique arabe. Dans la seconde partie de cet article, nous montrerons l’importance de cette tradition logico-philosophique dans le ar al-K fiya du grammairien Ra al-d n al-Astar b d (VIIe/ XIIIe siècles). Mais, dans la première partie, en partant des verbes «délocutifs», nous traiterons de la catégorie grammaticale de ik ya («citation»), à travers le chapitre que lui consacre Za (IVe/ Xe siècle) dans le Kit b al-umal.
