abstract : This article explores the relationship between morphology and syntax. The first part shows how this relationship is conditioned by the inherent properties of each of these subdomains and their respective goal. It describes how the emergence of formal grammar historically marginalized morphology. The main body of the text is a discussion of the major empirical arguments which have been put forth to support the idea that morphology and syntax should constitute two separate domains.RÉSUMÉ : Cet article explore les relations entre morphologie et syntaxe.
