K. Popper — Science, Methodology and Philosophy. The aim of this article is to underscore the originality of K. Popper in relation to the Vienna Circle. Firstly, the question is located in its historical context (§1) and a synthetic view of the key positions of the Viennese philosophy is suggested (§2) ; then an examination of Popper's own positions (§3) leads to a number of critical observations (§4). Of especial interest is the question of the status of reason. Over against the philosophy of the Circle, Popper distinguishes between a rationality in the strict sense and a rationality in the broad sense, but this division coincides neither with Kant's nor with Wittgenstein's.
