SUMMARY In the second half of the nineteenth century the landscape of Grande Sologne has been transformed by extensive reafforestations which have taken the place of moors and poor fields. In spite of that evolution, many features of the previous landscape have survived : scattered interspersed settlements, large regular parcels ; while new out ying spots and hedged in farms appeared. More recently, cultivated soils have been left fallow again, ponds have been dug ; above all, Sologne is covered by an often thick network of wire netting enclosures.
