Through the analysis of 30.000 animal bones discovered in Meaux "Rue Alfred-Maury " (Seine-et- Marne) and Paris "Rue Pierre-et-Marie-Curie " (Seine), this paper describes some patterns of meat consumption during the Ist c. AD, the provisioning and the treatment of the meat in these cities. The approach focuses on the differences between the two cities taken into account regarding the butchering techniques and the size of cattle.
